We will also soon be offering high efficiency (permanent magnet technology) DC alternators as options on our generators and CHP systems. There are two choices of DC alternator: 48VDC, 100Amp; or 24VDC, 200Amp.
	About Us We develop and supply Diesel (Compression Ignition) powered generators for the European domestic housing market. All our generators are:- Designed to cope with the long hours and continuous heavy duty that domestic electricity production requires. Capable of running on alternative fuels (once the necessary modifications have been made). Designed to form the basis of a domestic Combined Heat and Power system. The size (power output) of our generators is specified to meet all the electricity needs of 90% of European houses. With the use of our Combined Heat and Power kits, our Systems can also satisfy all the heating needs of the same houses. Why is local electricity generation so important? Our planet has only one renewable/continuous source of energy (ignoring geothermal and nuclear), and that is the energy we receive from the sun. This is the budget that our energy usage must meet soon. At the moment, our energy usage is several orders of magnitude greater than our budget (due to our extravagant use of fossil fuels), so we have to start being much more efficient with our energy usage. Although the human race has survived for thousands of years without electricity, it is now highly unlikely that we will give up this 'luxury' in the interest of our planet, so we need to be intelligent when we decide how to generator our electricity. All electricity generation methods entail a certain level of inefficiency - the process produces a vast amount of waste heat. When we generate electricity in power stations (centralised), we almost always waste this heat because heat is very difficult to distribute over distances. It is therefore obvious that the only environmentally friendly way of generating electricity is locally, where the waste heat can be put to good use.
	Product Overview All Volvox Generators are designed for the purpose of providing domestic electricity. They are all extremely durable (continous heavy duty) in order to cope with the long running times required by hme electricity product. All Volvox Generators are designed for easy/cheap maintenance. Anyone with the most fundamental knowledge of engine maintenance will be capable of undertaking most maintenance tasks. All other (more substantial) maintenance tasks can be easy performed by any mechanic. All Volvox Generators are capable of running on higher viscosity fuels, like vegetable oil (waste or new) and even waste motor oil. Conversion kits are required for these alternative fuels, but once fitted, the engines will run just as reliably as they do on diesel. All Volvox Generators can run on Biodiesel, red diesel and kerosine without any modification. All Volvox Generators are designed for easy adapation to Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Systems. They are all water cooled, and the coolant system can easily be adapted to provide heat for central heating or domestic hot water. We even supply exhaust gas heat exchangers to capture all the waste exhaust heat. All Volvox Generators come with a comprehensive warranty. Product Range
