Volvox Air to Water HeatPumps

HeatPumps and the environment

It is hard to believe that when the outside temperature is low, and you need a coat on in order to remain comfortable if you go out, there is still plenty of heat energy in the air. This is because we subconsciously think about temperatures in the range of 0 to 100 degrees centigrade. However, the HeatPump thinks differently. It can take air in at a temperature of 0 degrees centigrade and remove heat to the extent that it expels air at -25 degrees centigrade. It has captured 25 degrees of heat, which it compresses and deposits in the water that circulates around your Central Heating System, at a temperature of 60 degrees centigrade.

Where everyone else is pumping heat into the environment, with a Volvox HeatPump, you can take it out, and whatsmore, that means you'll be consuming less too.

HeatPumps, how do they work?

If you are interested in protecting our environment, and providing a very 'cost effective' method of heating your home, you need to know about HeatPumps.

HeatPumps are nothing more than fridges, which are the same thing as an air conditioning units, which are the same as freezers. They all work on the same principle, moving heat from one end of the equipment to the other.

They all have a 'hot' side and a 'cold' side. Air conditioning units have the cold side inside the building and the hot side outside. HeatPumps are exactly the same thing, but you put the cold side outside, and have the hot side inside the building.

HeatPumps come in different forms, all working on exactly the same principle. They vary on what they take the heat from, and what they put it into. An air conditioning unit chills the air in a building and puts hot air into the outside atmosphere. Ground-sourced HeatPumps chill the ground outside your property and puts the heat into water that flows through your home's central heating system.

Volvox HeatPumps take heat from the air in the outside atmosphere and put it into water which is pumped through your central heating system. They are a direct replacement for your central heating boiler. They are mounted outside your house and have a flow and return pipe, a thermostat switch cable, and a standard 13amp mains power supply - what could be simpler?

The Volvox air to water HeatPumps consume less than 2KWs of electricity to drive them, but produce over 6KWs of heat in your home. This equates to more than 4KWs of free heat. Whatsmore, while everybody else is pumping vast amounts of fossil energy into the environment to heat their homes, you'll be taking it out - your contribution to slowing global warming.

Practicalities

The Volvox Air to water HeatPump is the easiest possible HeatPump to install.

First of all, it sits outside your house, so you can have back some space that a boiler would have consumed.

Secondly, it is a direct replacement for a Central Heating Boiler. It has exactly the same wiring and plumbing connections (22mm flow and return pipes; standard 13Amp power supply; standard internal temperature thermostat switch).

Whatsmore, it is built from exactly the same technology as your fridge (just much bigger), which means it is as reliable as your fridge, will last just as long as your fridge, and needs servicing just like your fridge - when was the last time you serviced your fridge?
