Customer Satisfaction

Our goal is to provide complete customer satisfaction. This is a new and emerging market where there are few other suppliers and products to measure us against. Customers expectations vary but we want to ensure that all our customers are completely happy with any of purchases made from us. If you feel there is any way we can make improvements, please let us know.

Warranties

All Volvox Generators come with a full parts warranty. If anything fails within the warranty period, which is extremely unlikely, we replace any and all defective components complete free of charge.

There are some scenarios that will invalidate your warranty:-

  • Running the Generator without the correct engine oil, or without water.
  • Allowing the generator to suffer frost damage (by not using anti-freeze).
  • Running the generator for long periods of time under loaded - i.e. running the generator too cool.
  • Over loading the generator for long periods of time - evident by the back smoke coming from the exhaust.
  • Running the generator on inappropriate fuels - or viscous fuels without the requisite conversion kit.
  • Not following the service instructions/intervals.
Returns Policy

We are happy to have products returned to us, providing the return is made within 28 days of purchase. The packing crate must be intact and there will be a handling fee of 3% of the purchase price.

UK Deliveries

UK mainland delivery charges can be determined by visiting the Palletline website. Our generators are delivered by Palletline and each generator is treated by them as one pallet. If you enter our warehouse postcode(HP19 8DJ) in the source field, and your postcode in the destination field, you can find out how much we will charge you for delivery.

Your generator can be delivered by a lorry with a tail-lift and a very nice gentleman who will be happy to use his pallet trolley to move your generator across most flat surfaces.

For 'difficult to get at' locations, we recommend you ask your local scrap yard to use their flat back lifting lorry to position your generator. They will generally do this for about £25.

International Deliveries

We are happy to deliver our products to any major shipping port in the world. It is then your responsibility to handle the import duty, agent fees, local taxes and local deliveries. However, we have experience of this and can help make the process very simple, by putting you in contact with the appropriate people in your country.

The prices of our products for international customers are slightly lower (approximately 5%) as there have been no UK import duty, agent fees, taxes or local transport paid. Ultimately the cost will be about the same once those fees have been paid in your country.

Lead times

Most of our customers do not require urgent delivery of their generator as installing a generator or CHP unit requires planning and preparation. For that reason, and also to reduce storage costs (which would have to be added to the list price), we build our products to order.

This means that our lead times are quite long. As a general rule, we expect to be ready to deliver your Generator 60 days after receiving the order, but this time can vary so please ask if lead times are important to you.

Payment Terms and methods

To secure an order we require a 50% deposit. We will then ask for the balance when the Generator is ready for delivery.

We are not able to accept card payments, preferring a cheque or Bank Transfer. If it is important for you to use a credit card as your method of payment, we can accept PayPal, which can be funded by your credit card if you have set it up that way.

Installations

Volvox Engineering Ltd does not normally get involved with the installation of your Generator. We have a lot of experience of this and will provide as much telephone/email support as you require. Generally speaking, with a little electrical and plumbing ability, the installation process is easily implemented and would not warranty the cost of paying us to travel and work at your site.

Parts and Servicing

We don't usually get involved with servicing either. Volvox Generators are designed in such a way to allow servicing to be done by the customer/owner. The products are as simple as possible (which contributes to their durability) and all maintenance tasks can be completed with very little prior experience.

As with the installation process, we are always here to provide as much telephone/email support as you require. Alternatively, any mobile mechanical (without any prior experience of these engine types) could be used for the task if you'd just prefer to keep your hands clean.

As for parts, we keep plenty in stock, and you will find them very competitively priced. However, it is not our business model to make money from parts - we are providing products that don't need parts replacing frequently so we hope you don't need us to provide them for you.

Also, we have designed our engines in a way that makes them 99% compatible with original Lister and Petter designs so you can source your parts from a multitude of suppliers if you so desire.

Our Name

Volvox communal Algae

The company has taken its name from a microbial algae (Volvox Algae).

This single cell organism can photosynthesize, travel and manoeuvre, and can form beautifully inter-connected colonies. It is often referred to as one of the seven wonders of the microbial world.

To us, they are wonderful individuals that form beautiful communities that are 'in complete harmony' with their environments.
